Sausage Beer

OK, so it doesn't taste anything like sausages, but I was intrigued, and had to try it. After touring through the Masai village, I had my doubts especially given that everything was either made of, or covered in, cow dung. However, we asked our host, and he graciously organised a mug that was delivered from one of the houses. It was explained that the beer is made in a bucket with water, honey, sugar and the chopped up fruit of this sausage tree. It is fermented for a week, and then voila! Surprisingly, it actually tasted somewhat like beer (with a little cow dung aftertaste), although, after taking small sips, Heather and our friend Wan made me finish the rest of the mug for some reason. Oh well, bottoms up! -Mike.
