Waterfalls, Beaches, & Sugar Cane

More of beautiful Mauritius!

Mauritius

Flying from Sydney to Kenya, we had a forced 5 day stay on Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean and popular destination for many. Our hotel was a small colonial house shared by the owners, who called us by our first names and provided with more than enough hospitality (Villa Jorico!).
Within 3 days we circumnavigated the island, visiting the colored sands, giant tortoises, sugar cane fields and water-falls, gorgeous beaches, and kayaked at sunset from the villa. -Heather

Leaving Australia

Our last day in Sydney was spent with Megs and Pat sailing the Sydney harbor! Negotiating our way to and from the boat was an adventure of it's own (small skiff pictured above!). For myself, I couldn't have asked for better company to wrap up my Australian adventure! -Heather
